Initial Consultation Visit
The purpose of the first visit is to establish your unique orthodontic problems and your desired treatment objectives. It is our aim to thoroughly understand your reasons for seeking orthodontic care, including your expectations and goals. Not all patients are ready for orthodontic treatment. Therefore, one of the major goals of your consultation appointment will be to determine the proper time to begin treatment.
At the first visit, diagnostic records will be made to allow Dr. Weaver to fully evaluate every aspect of your needs and to determine the best course of treatment. Diagnostic records typically include:
- Medical / Dental history
- Clinical examination
- Photos of the patient’s face and teeth
- Dental Models via an in-the-mouth scanner. Weaver Orthodontics utilizes state of the art technology to create digital dental models without the need to use goopy impression materials (mouth molds).
After we have evaluated your records, Dr. Weaver and his Treatment Coordinator will explain all aspects of your treatment in detail. You will be presented with a complete clinical diagnosis regarding the nature of your orthodontic problems, a written summary of the findings and a detailed plan that outlines your treatment goals, treatment length, and estimated fees. This consultation appointment will be scheduled with ample time for you to ask as many questions as you require. Our goal is to make this process as easy as possible to allow you to make an informed decision about your orthodontic treatment.
